From My Kitchen ♥ Old-Fashioned White Bread

Baking bread is a newfound love of mine. My late Grandpa loved making bread, and he always made his in a bread machine. Several years before he passed away, when he was no longer able to bake bread due to his old age (91!), he gave us his bread machine. That was a number of years ago, and ever since, I have tried on different occasions to use the machine.

This particular recipe of our favorite! The crust is soft, which is what we love, and the flavor is gentle and oh-so-yummy! I simply dump all the ingredients into the pan inside the machine, set it on "normal bake", and then wait for the tasty results.

I love setting it to bake early in the evening, and then we get to enjoy the scents of bread baking all night long. My mom then, happily, takes it out in the morning, after it has cooled all night, slices it, and we use some right away, and then the other half we freeze for another day.

It's just perfectly delicious!

Old-Fashioned White Bread

2 tbsp. butter, cold
1 1/2 cup hot water
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. yeast

Add all the ingredients to your bread machine pan in the order given. Set the machine to your desired bake time...I use normal bake. And allow the magic to happen. Trust me, it will! {{smiles}}

Enjoy!
