Several winters ago, I became obsessed with this apple ginger spice tea. This is sort of a different tea, but I find it to be a really soothing drink. The flavor is subtle but at the same time, all the distinct flavors of the ingredients really shine through. While I am sharing a recipe below, several of the ingredients are simply add to your taste. Now, for the recipe...
Warming Apple Ginger Tea
Cut a small-ish sized sweet apple into tiny chunks and place in a glass measuring cup. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the pieces. Using an immersion blender, blend the apple and lemon juice into a smooth puree.
Add in 1 tsp. minced fresh ginger and blend a bit more.
Pour enough boiling water up to the 1.5 cup line. You can go up to the 2-cup line if you want a more subtle taste. Mix well.
Pour your tea into a pretty mug and sprinkle cinnamon on top and drizzle honey in as well.
Taste to see if you need anymore cinnamon or honey.
Enjoy!
