Cozy greetings, lovely readers...
I'm back with week two of my October photo diary. I hope you enjoy this little peek into my week. ♥
day eleven ♥ warmth
This one should be called "the illusion of warmth", because it's been so hot here still that we haven't gotten to enjoy the cozy warmth of the season yet. We have been using our electric woodburning stove just for the ambiance so far...we are definitely not turning the heat on yet. We'd be a puddle on the floor if we did that!
day twelve ♥ in my mug
My mom and I saw a new harvest tea blend recently that we knew we just had to try. And I'm here to tell you, it may very well be one of the best teas I've ever had. Ever. It has cinnamon, ginger, hibiscus, roasted chicory, orange peel, and chamomile in it. I let a tea bag steep in my mug and then added a dribble, or two, of a favorite (healthier) creamer, and it was absolutely divine. Not to mention the scent...it's exactly what autumn smells like when I close my eyes.
day thirteen ♥ wonder
Years ago, I got this garden decoration for my birthday. There was no way I was putting it outside because I think the wear of going through the seasons for years would damage it...we do get some wild weather and temperatures sometimes. I decided instead to put it in my room, and during the autumn and winter, I add twinkle lights to this corner. As soon as I saw this decoration, it spoke wonder and imagination to me...two things which I am very purposeful in adding to my life as much as I can. I love looking at it, and I love what it represents to me.
day fourteen ♥ magical
The perfect October read. That's how I'll always describe this book. I finished reading this book earlier in the week for the third time. I'd always said this was a top favorite, and while I'm not necessarily sure about that label anymore, as my reading tastes have changed a bit since I first read this book, it's still a favorite in terms of enjoyment. I really, really love the autumnal, cozy, October vibes and descriptions that this story brings. I especially love the character, Claire, and her story...I'd love to know her in real life. I thoroughly enjoyed my re-read and would definitely read it again, but only and always in October. It's such a comfort read for me, and I'm forever thankful for stories like that.
day fifteen ♥ feast
One of our dinners this week was a lemon pepper roasted chicken. I love making roasted chicken, and it's especially fun trying new seasoning and herb blends as well as a new recipe here and there. Sometimes, though, a simple lemon pepper chicken is just what we are craving. It makes our entire home smell divine, and afterwards, I make at least two big batches of bone broth to use in future meals. Absolutely nothing goes to waste!
day sixteen ♥ outfit of the day
On the first weekend that it finally actually, really, truly feels like autumn, one simply must pull out the flannel shirts...and the pumpkin earrings, too. Cool, crisp air. Blustery winds blowing leaves from the trees. Fluffy clouds in a sky as blue as a dream. That fresh scent in the air that blows all the stagnant air of summer away. That's what this weekend was made of.
May your week be a beauty!
