Another week in October has come and gone; this month is flying by, as usual. But I'm so enjoying this photo diary project, as it encourages me to take notice of the small little things that bring delight and beauty and magic to my world. I hope you enjoy this week's collection...

day seventeen ♥ weather
Twinkle light weather. Maybe not a meteorological term, but it's a definite weather term in my book. The time of year when the sun sets earlier, the skies are sometimes grey and cloudy, the golden light of late afternoon and early evening is gone, and the gentle, soft glow of twinkly lights shines through the window welcoming me home as I pull in the driveway...it's the most welcoming sight.

I recently did a bit of book rearranging in my room. We're doing lots of organizing around our home, and it inspired me to do a bit of reorganization in my room. For the longest time, I'd only had a few books on this cupboard, and I decided it would look nice to have the entire shelf full of books. This is where I'm keeping my home/garden/craft books along with some delightful storybook collections. I'm rather pleased with how it looks. Doing that with my books made me have to bring my large flowery teapot to the front of the shelf, so I actually get to see it better, too. A lovely sight, indeed.
day nineteen ♥ in my mug
I'm enjoying that harvest tea blend that I shared about last week...it's my newest tea obsession. I'm enjoying using a Halloween mug this week, too.
day twenty ♥ at the moment
A rather blurry, poor photo of an almost-full moon on a late October evening. But it was beautiful in a sky full of stars. Do you love going out to see the moon each night, too? Or am I a weirdo? I love the moon...I get along with it a lot better than I do with the sun. {{winks}}
day twenty-one ♥ my happy place
My happy place is ♥ home ♥. One of my happy places in my happy place is this cozy corner in my room...I've shared this corner many times before, but I can't resist sharing it again. I love my chair and blankets and pink pillows. I love having a stack of picture books next to it, along with Miss Fox. A few lamps, my mystery book collection on the shelves, my teacup collection, my collection of knick-knacks and treasures that aren't really that special, but they are special to me. A corner that says "me".

Hints of orange tucked into nooks and crannies of our home during autumn...one of my favorite colors of the season.

One of my favorite light-weight sweaters and a pair of leggings for an afternoon at the botanic gardens and an evening spent at the craft store. A delightful late October Friday.
day twenty-four ♥ baking
For the weekend, I baked us an apple cake with cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom. I also tried a new homemade ice cream recipe...a simpler recipe that my usual one that uses our ice cream maker. While the taste of this new recipe was perfection, it was really just a fancier whipped cream and not an ice cream at all. So I'll probably just stick with my other recipe. But, the apple cake was divine! I added an extra apple into the cake batter, and my oh my, did it make the difference. So much yumminess!
I sincerely hope this last week of October 2026 is an absolute beauty for each one of you. I hope you find bits of magic and delight tucked into the corners of your days. I hope the warmth and coziness of this season fills your heart and home. I hope that for you and for me.
